Gravity

Gravity has a hold on many things.

Gravity wraps around my ankles and is the discouraging reality of my leaping skills. It taps on the soles of my feet and reminds me that there is much I cannot do on my own. Gravity is everywhere, all the time, holding everything together, acting as the essence of stability. Without gravity, there is no order.

One day I realized that gravity has no hold on my thoughts, or on my feelings; gravity had no hold on my dreams -- or on my heart. Gravity had no hold on God.

I couldn't fly limitlessly but my dreams could. I couldn't leap fifty stories high but my heart could, I couldn't see from the ground up to the milky way but my God can

Gravity is a school rule meant to be broken. If people tell you "you're dreaming the wrong things," then keep dreaming anyway because God's grace and love is more badarse than you think.

Sweater Weather

HELLO HOLIDAYS *inserts multiple faces at a go*

Jean and I did our Sweater Weather cover, finally! Quickie one but honestly, how can Cardigan Weather not do that song right. So here you go:

Also:

I know you love me Jean..... and your ways of promoting me on social media is extraordinarily flattering.

Anyway.

I read something rather upsetting recently. Man, I don't understand how some folks can actually believe that their opinion is way more important than anyone else's. Sure, be upset and go disagree, have a voice--- but if that means being totally insensitive towards other human species (who by the way have feelings too, like yourself) and making them feel terrible about themselves when they haven't done anything to step into your way of life, then you deserve to be banished to a corner and into the silent self-reflecting box.

I think life is about embracing all sorts of people whether or not you agree with them. Especially in the name of Big G who is the winner hugger of all time and mind you, to folks who never walked conventionally, perfectly or so very religiously. Disagreeing doesn't give you the right to walk right into the picture to stamp your own flag of beliefs into someone else's backyard.

On the extreme other end,

I can't be more grateful for the many others who've fought their way back into my life, to say "I will stay and I will love you, despite your choices." This grace.

To end off----
I really fancy my owl beanie. I even named it-- Hootie.

Goodnight folks!

colour splashin'

* awkward cough*

Hi. I know. How long has it been?

Some very (literally) colourful things I've been involved with recently,

1. Macbeth project for my favourite bunch of folks.

So Jean, Mel, Jamie and a few other awesome people did a school project on a Macbeth interpretation assignment and that led to Jean and I choreographing some interpretative dance for a narration. It was quite the experience-- I haven't danced in 3 years, and to mention modern dance to the least!

It turned out really fun no less ~

2. TPP IS OVER

Bittersweet would be extremely cliche but accurate. 15 weeks of crazy braincell-exploding, late nights and remaking of costumes and reciting lines. We finally did it. 3 shows and the best audience... So here are some pictures of me being a clown-looking make up artist.

The team and well-- we hosted some secondary school kids ~

DIRECTOR BOUGHT US PIZZA #wipestears

Bare faced moment and I'm totally going to try this unicorn hair like for real.

---------------------

So yes, my scalp and nails have been traumatized by endless colour powdering the last 2 weeks... But awful fun I have to say.

UPDATE:

Upcoming gig on 12th of March, Wednesaday

Show starts at 8:30pm and my set is on at 9:30pm!

Come down and say hi if you're free that night :)

So it's 1:42am and to end off, I just wanna add in the fact that I successfully mastered steaming milk and made a proper cup of mocha (and alot more other cups of failed latte art coffee) at work without burning my fingers and freaking out by spilling the hot milk all over, today.

It was a good day.

Goodnight folks!

Gigsters

Hey world,

Jared and I went cafe/gig hopping the other day and we discovered some gold.

I like how we'd both lugged a few cameras out that day. There was film, dslr, phone everything! Here are some shots I took (of course Jared took the one of mua) ~

Hello gorjuz Indie Bo

Hello Vignesh Singh (playing @ LOWERCASE and I only know his name 'cause he requested for the pictures. This guy's voice, is wo-ah ~)

Hello Jared

Hello -- Okay I didn't catch his name but, HIS vocals.

And, one of the acts at Artistry (again, too busy taking pictures I didn't get his name oh well)

The guys we heard that day were uhmazing. If you recognize those few faces you would know. We bumped into our lecturer too and whoo he was one of the organizers if not the organizer of the show Stagefright which we were at. And guys, I'm playing the next show on 15th March!!!!!! Jot it down on your calendar somewhere and come if you are fweee ~

Okay so, crazy week ahead. It's been busy busy busy and whilst people deal with that with cigarettes, shopping therapy and tv, I've been doing bad painting.

I'm thankful for Big G and good music and people who love me :') Have an awesome week all!

Pen By The Cold
Seathekies

She sat by the wall, wrapped up with her legs against her chest. It was cold; too cold for someone with already aching bones. Her skin had been left to brave the winter on its own. Days had passed, and her only thought, “If only time would stop dragging its feet.”

So she penned, she penned by the cold.

And she knew, what it was like to experience the day and miss the night, and lay through the night hoping for the day. From dusk to dawn only images replay, of how it felt like to be held again.

I blame you atlas, a tempter of all the seas, but you won’t be my ticket. You haunt me through my sleep, making my feet itch, my hands clench, my heart palpitate, my breathing harder for fierce desire to sail. In hope of adventures and places to see, with the one I love, this’ my only plea; these are dreams, not plans. Plans are those you are certain to fulfill, while dreams take a miracle. These are dreams, I have no plan.

Aching from both hearts, left and right, a tightness resurfaces and I recognize that feeling— we’d met before. If I know these tears well enough, they were crying out for a glass of water. Yes, water. It’s also, basically, the essential need for survival. You are my essential need for survival.

I still blame you, seas. You are beautiful and can tell a thousand things to my heart, even without saying a single word. You are effortless blue and it’s not even your natural color. You can cry all day and no one will think you are pathetic, because that’s what makes you so ridiculously gorgeous. The weakest of the oceans find refuge under your comfort, and the bravest of them all would never live beyond your waters. You are breathtaking by day, and can shimmer glamorously through the night. Now, will you tell me your secret already?

She sat by the wall, wrapped up with her legs against her chest. It was cold; too cold for someone with waking dreams and a love too faraway.

So she penned, she penned by the cold.

Salt Winter

I really hate to admit the fact I've been such an emotional sloth the last couple of days. I couldn't quite help it but I think enough is enough. I'm not gonna wait for another person to pick me up from the back of my shirt and hang me up the wall. It's terrible... can't--breatheeee.

I'm really grateful for the all people in my life, and my bunny who has been bringing me the widest smiles as of late. How can you not smile at this:

:'D

It has been dreadfully emotional and grossly terrifying to be all in the face with the honesty of my thoughts and feelings. Some crazy crazy things up in my brain right there friend. BUT, some of the best and most honest works have come out of it too, so I wouldn't trade the experience for anything else either. I might share them one day I might not, but I discovered that I might be more capable of more things than I actually know. Of course, I cannot give any credit whatsoever to my pathetic little life, because really, who am I without Jesus?

So, enough tears and fever and fainting and hiding under my blankie named Chouchou

It's Adventure Time guys.

Indie Bo

Hello world,

I received a new baby as present this christmas!!!!!!!!!!! And, I named it Indie Bo (after the legendary JD who named his daughter Indie Bo. Yes, whatever-- copy cat, kiss the rat, go home eat your mother's yummy chicken broth :'D-- well, that's what I did)

And here she is:

so beautiful I know :'D

It's been a teary time for me... plus, I fainted from cramps yesterday afternoon (:/) so, I brought Indie Bo out today and it was T H E R A P E U T I C I tell you.

There's this sense of accomplishment every time I snap something with it, as if clouds of comfort and confidence just floats above my head all of a sudden heh. I started journaling and realised---- it's pretty cool that I had to peel off the negative strip from the film to see the picture and really, it was like a literal practice (or you could call it.. a lesson) for me--- I was peeling off the "negatives" each time before I could see how the film turned out and it was ridiculously comforting.

Some of these films turned out great, and some others--  well not so great. Either way, it was magical every single time. Here are some of the turn outs thus far :)

There.

Have a great day everyone, and if you're feeling jaded, go out and do something that matters to you!

Love, sam

ILLUMI PARTY RUN

Hi folks,

Jean and I went for the Illumi Run 2013 last saturday and omagah it was cray craaaay ~
It was so much fun and 5km never felt so easy (shut up if 5k is a breeze to you and if you're smirking behind your screen now. Stop it. Like no, really. Stop it ah.)

I think it's a really awesome thing for

1. lazy people who can't stand running (like me)
'cause honestly the hype does make everything better :')
ps: crazy price to pay for some sweat if you're cynical as pickles but HEY if you had traumatic times during napfa in the past, this is a great way to re write memories #wipestear

2. anyone who has ever wished to be under rainbow coloured rain (me again)
so, the after party was a sea of chaotic, excited evening athletes and we were clearly the shorter lot of the mass but heck it. IT WAS RAINING RAINBOW GLOW PAINT FOR GLOW'S SAKE!!!!
It was beautiful #brbweeping

3. anyone else who wants to show off their running and dodging skeelz
okay get this, we left the venue and there were other crazy people
- still running
- with pathetic amounts of paint on their shirts (hardly any paint la)
- no really, like running like they don't care
I mean sure, pay 60 bucks and continue being uptight :'D

Okay sorry, I don't mean to be all sarcastic salmon. Maybe I'm just jealous that I don't have as much enthusiasm. Ah well. POINT IS, I got to be covered in rainbow glow paint with my best friend, I'm the happiest bunny :'3

#excites #feelinlikeanathelete #iwasanathelete #justsaying #usedtobeincrosscountry #dontknowwhathappened #toomanyhashtags

okay here's when we were the next wave to be released (10,000 cool people showed up that night!)

After run!!!! (sorry J I think too many mouth open shots so i cut the heads off :')

:') (see what I mean)

Okay this was a lot more magical LIVE.

Had to tiptoe to get this shot #shh

Happy rainbow bunny :'3 (ok so I like to open my mouth in pictures, deal with it.)

Oh and of course, complete contrast to my day self:

(finally mouth closed)

Well, it was definitely a run to freaking remember. I hope they do this every year!!!!!

ps: it was not difficult to wash off the paint -- at all -- if you were wondering :')

#happysigh

Goodnight folks!

Fuji x100s

Hi guys,

Lenne has been an excellent influencer and hence, I'm now faced with the dilemma of choosing between a canon 700D / 70D / and the now and ever so pretty -- FUJI X100S

Come, let's take a look at how pretty it is and how it produces pretty as well #wipestear

SO pretty I can crai.

And these now:

Okay one more:

How not to love?
I was totally bought over by this eye candy.

The only thing is that the last I checked, it was going at SGD 1.5k *inserts ugly crying*
And it only seemed more than logical to get a 70D instead--- which I btw chanced upon a shop selling it for SGD 1.2k (!!!!!!)

So tell me, how?

On another note, I spent the last two days helping Lenne design the typography for her postcards she's going to be selling at the coming up Underground Market!! (click to check out details!)

It sounds totally fab and I think Jean and I are totally gonna be therez too ~ (8th dec!) If you go, please check out the postcards! They have been made with loads of love and efforts :'3  -teehee-

We also did a photoshoot recently for a project and here are some pretty for you:

* insert feels shots:

But no really, there were so many dragonflies and this was how I was in all honesty:

Don't judge me.

Now back to work. Bye humans :')

Christmas, Christmas time is near

Hi bunnies,

It has been a few crazy weeks of shoots, presentations, more shoots and finally, UT that stares me in the eyes at current. Life :')

So I finally got to meet Lenne thanks to the shoot J dragged me to a couple of days back. She introduced Haim to us and I tell you, I'm completely bought over. Done. I'm in. Fangirl waving hanky and weeping by the corner equates to my present state of being.

Now here, ass kicking music has to be shared so:

And they are like how chio please.
Okay puking rainbows aside, I've decided to save up for a camera and do some happy shooting on my own! Reason being that I'm so addicted to snapping and editing photos and it seems to be something I've dedicated myself to doing the last 2 years (if you've been with me on instagram and if not, @seatheskies hello nice to meet you). I figured it could be time I bought myself some gear to level up the quality of stuff I might possibly be able to produce.

So. I consulted some awesome people, JZ in particular who set my perspective in place (not just with cameras, you are the boss la thank you #wipestear) and I'm taking his advice and going with the Canon Rebel t5i (700D) that comes with the 18-55mm lenses.

And from there I will "grow with the camera --" wise words from the boss. I guess everyone starts somewhere and I hope I start here, and soon teehee.

ps: if you'd like to contribute to my camera fund for christmas I will lavs youuuuuu ~
ALTERNATIVELY, you can offer me jobs so that I can save up for it on my own (HA)

And I sidetrack here to say, my next cover's coming up!!!! Just did the track and am in the process of planning the mv for it which I will get done asap hopefully, and I'll try to post it up in 2 weeks max!

So goodnight fellow cotton cloud candies, and have a good night!

love,
sam
